Are Men Better at Dieting Than Women?

It’s an age old weight loss myth : Men are better at losing weight than women! But is it true? There have been multiple research papers and books published down through the years that agree to a certain extent that men are bodily better equipped to help shedding the pounds than their female counterparts.

This is due to men having a higher muscle mass than women. However, their is a stigma attached to men losing weight, which stops them from participating in weight loss groups. Rather a man will try and lose weight under his own steam with no help or support network.

Obesity in men has reached record breaking heights over the last decade and the health implications are huge. Men have built-in key advantages over women to help lose weight, but need to become more aware of the health risks that obesity brings. Exercising and dieting alone is fine but it can be more fun and productive if men thought about losing weight and getting fitter with a network of friends behind them that weight loss groups provide.
